What is Ramasetu and what is there on this whole controversy, know 10 things
Ramasetu is a chain of shallow rocks between the Rameshwar island of Tamil Nadu, south east of India and Mannar Island in the northeast of Sri Lanka. This bridge is known in India as Ram Setu.
Let us know about ten specific things about Ramsethu :-
- The chain of rocks which is known as Ramsetu, from Rann of India to Mannar Island of Sri Lanka, is known as Adams Bridge (Adam’s Bridge) in the world.
- The length of this bridge is 30 miles, that is 48 kilometers. This structure separates the Bay of Mannar and the Pak Straits center from each other.
- The sea is quite shallow in this area. The depth of these rocks in the sea is just 3 feet to 30 feet.
- In many places it is dry and in many places is shallow, due to which the movement of ships is not possible.
- It is said that in the 15th century it was possible to walk through Rameshwar to Mannar Island on this structure.
- But, the storms deepened the sea and in 1480 AD it was broken due to the cyclone.
- In the year 2005, the Government of India had announced the Sethusamudram project. Under this, some areas of Adams Bridge were planned to be defeated and made of marine vessels. For this, it was necessary to break some rocks.
- It is believed that after completion of the Sethu Samudram project, all international ships will pass through the canal leaving the long route of the Colombo port, it is estimated that 2000 or more vessels will use this canal every year.
- Citing the picture from NASA, it is claimed that the relics are of a man-made bridge. NASA says, ‘The image is ours but we did not give this analysis. The remote image can not be said that it is a man-made bridge.
- American space agency NASA has said that photographs taken by its astronomers do not prove that there is no existence in the real form of Ram Sethu created by Lord Rama, described in the Hindu scripture Ramayana.
