New Delhi. Linking the SIM to the Aadhaar number has been made mandatory. By 6th February 2018, all mobile users have to link to the SIM their numbers to their base. If not done, the mobile number will be closed. Some people can not go to the telecom service provider to link the base due to busy schedules.

But, from 1 January 2018 you will be able to do this job easily by sitting at home. At the moment, the customer has to go to the Telephone Service Provider Center for this.

Call to IVRS from phone

  • To add your base details with your mobile number, customers will have to call the interactive Voice Response System ( IVRS ) with their mobile number.
  • After this, the mobile number must be allowed to link from the base.
  • The user will then be sent an OTP, which will complete the once typed process. After that the customer will be informed that their number has been linked with the base.

However, consumers will be able to avail of this facility only if their mobile number is already present in the database. UIDAI CEO Ajay Bhushan Pandey said that this will help people verify their mobile number with the base without reaching the telecom outlet. However, this will only happen if their mobile number has already been added to the base database.

Automatic will be full process

The telephone service providers have been told to keep all the security arrangements on all the voice channels. This complete process should be automatic. Security must be exactly like the IVRs of banks. UIDAI says that telephone service providers have ensured that Aadhar will not be able to access operators and customer relationship executives.
